The five biggest problems and our focus on when we were elected on 2074 B.S.:
1. Roads
2. Drinking water
3. Road lighting
4. Sewerage/drainage
5. Ward office too small and lacks necessary resources to serve the people of KMC 9
We were able to work on these issues after being elected in 2074 B.S.:
1. Roads - Almost all the roads that fall under our local guidance have been constructed, fixed, managed, and maintained.
2. Drinking water - We have worked with Melamchi Khanepani to ensure proper drinking water is available to every house in our ward.
3. Road lighting - Proper lighting has been installed in different locations of our beautiful city to help pedestrians as well as motorists to improve their visibility and avoid accidents.
4. Sewerage/drainage - A lot of sewerages and drainages has been managed and fixed in different locations
5. Construction of the New Ward Office has been completed under our administration. It is handicapped friendly, Senior Citizens friendly, and Children Friendly. And we have improved a lot of operations conducted by the ward office by incorporating digital services, digital payment, easy accessibility to services and information, and improving our feedback services.
6. And to support our next goal, we have built better infrastructures in Government schools (Mangaladevi School has a new building) that are in our ward, we have also built Senior Citizen Vawan along with improving the structures of Battisputali Youth club and Shree Mangal Club.
What other issues do we have in our ward?
1. Education sector - We want our coming generation to receive a good education so that they are able to succeed in life and help this country develop. Our goal is to work with both government and private schools and colleges to make education for our children affordable and qualitative. Our aim is to have a good school and colleges in our own ward so that our children do not need to go to other places to study. And we have already been taking to the Ministry of Education to make this a priority. We are working and trying to make Government schools as good as private schools.
2. Health sector - Dealing with the COVID - 19 pandemic, it has been clear to us that there are a lot of improvements needed in the health sector in our area. We are going to work with hospitals, clinics, and health care providers in our ward to ensure that we are able to take care of our fellow citizens whenever they need us. We are also planning on operating a free ambulance service for our Ward. And We are going to develop at least two fitness centers in our ward.
3. Garbage Disposal problem - During our last term of service, we have noticed that our garbage disposal system needs a drastic improvement as it affects the health of our residents. We are planning to manage it better and improve our recycling system with the help of our Municipality. We are in talks with many recycling firms to improve our garbage disposal system.
With education and health being our main focus, there are other things like proper installation of road signs to avoid accidents, conservation of our water resources (Dhungedhara), construction and improvements of our roads, proper electric grids to avoid load shedding and we plan on working closely with electric authorities to lower the cost of electricity for our residents. We are going to make the process of registering small/medium businesses easier and will help them set up their business in order to encourage the entrepreneurs that we have in our ward to do their business here in our ward and create job opportunities and help in the local economy.
